Do We Not Bleed?
Jon and Judy, after the near-disastrous but mysteriously healing events at the end of Death Comes for the Deconstructionist, now move back into the group home for the cognitively disabled from whence Judy came—she as a resident, he as staff. Jon is still damaged goods, but he’s fighting for health the best he knows how, and making a bit of progress. Zillah is back in his life, as is a nun who speaks to him a strange wisdom. One of his charges in the home is accused of murder and the others set out to save him. I think this novel is funnier than the first, but no less serious.
